We lost a few hours on Instagram traveling to other cities / countries and between us we thought – maybe we should share with you some of the best accounts we found so far? We thought some more and decided to sharpen our willingness to travel and show you some towns by local iphones. They live in cities we would like to visit and know everything that any tourist want to see. The first city is Cairo with photos and descriptions of Khadra’s Instagram (BRUTAL aka DOPE account), visit, do like and follow her. Double tap!!

Cairo, Egypt is a historic city in all it’s glory. It stood through wars, rebellions, and revolutions. Cairo is an ant colony, a paradise, and battle field all at once. Cairo is the conqueror, and the settler. It presents oil markets, fresh juice, local food, and authentic representation of all that have been hidden to me in Minnesota.

My experience in Cairo, through my photography is how I see such a miraculous city.  It is a difficult place to walk, with so much going on towards the west, and east. There is no boring corner, or inch in Cairo. A city awaken by the moon and rocked to sleep by it’s departure. Cairo is a perfect example of an amusement park which came to life.

1.) Here’s a photo i took while having dinner with some of my family members. It’s one of Egypt’s favorite cuisines its made of rice, macaroni and lentils mixed together, topped with a tomato-vinegar sauce; some add short pieces of spaghetti garnished with chickpeas and crispy fried onions. A sprinkling of garlic juice and hot sauce are optional. It’s one of the few delicious foods you will try in Egypt.

2.) The Manial Palace and Museum. Located in the Sharia al-Saray area in the El-Manial district of southern Cairo, Egypt. If you ever want to something to do in Cairo, this is definitely the place to visit. With its beauty and historical culture, this place will make you never want to leave again!

3.) One of the many shots i took of the River Nile. Yeah, Yeah i know, it’s “just a river Katra, stop making it into a big deal” but honestly you’re missing out big time if you don’t see it once with your own two eyes. I’m telling you, the River Nile is magical.

4.)  Another favorite Egyptian dish will be “Fuul” a.k.a beans. It’s a very popular breakfast dish to eat here in Egypt. You can enjoy eating it with many side dishes like you see on the photo above. When you just don’t have the time to whip yourself up some homemade cooked meal, all you need is 2 pounds and you are ready to have yourself some Fuul.

5.) THE PYRAMIDS! I had made a bucket list before I left and that was to see the 7 wonders of the world and to have one checked off was definitely a good feeling! No photos can ever justify how huge the Pyramids are, we were like little ants compared next to them!
Having said that, make sure you come with lots and lots of sunscreen on, that hot sun will be definitely burning you if you don’t.

6.) Photo taken in Downtown Cairo.
